Description TRAC, the Rural Action Committee, established in 1983 as a project of the Black Sash, published this Newsletter with the intention of giving communities under threat of forced removal in the Transvaal province access to information about other communities in similar situations, as well as creating public awareness of the plight of these rural communities. In monitoring forced removals TRAC attempted to assist those threatened with removal as well as those already "persuaded" to move and living in conditions giving rise to unemployment, poverty, disease and malnutrition. The Government policy of forcibly removing "black spots" into newly formed homelands or bantustans was made relatively easy by the existing legislation.
