The appointment of two Committees (one in respect of the Transvaal and one in respect of Natal) was announced by you in Government Notice No. 2645 dated the 26th November, 1948, and also in radio broadcasts on the 10th and 14th December, 1948, for tho purpose of submitting, after inviting and considering suggestions from the public, proposals for the amendment of the laws relating to the ownership and occupation of land by Asiatics.
