The United Nations Trust Fund for South Africa
During the many years that the United Nations has attempted to persuade the South African Government to abandon its policy of racial discrimination which so clearly contravenes the letter and the spirit of the Charter, the Organization has shown particular concern over the fact that the imposition of this policy of apartheid has been accompanied by increasingly harsh repression against the leaders of non-white political organizations and the many whites who joined them in opposing apartheid. It has pressed for an end to such repressive measures which tend to increase bitterness and make a peacefu) solution increasingly difficult.
